The first five minutes in any new app decide whether you stick around. This release is about making those minutes better — especially for anyone who opens Garage131 and thinks, “Okay… now what?”
In this release: a welcome wizard with sample equipment, photos when you add a machine, a friendly maintenance page, and a lot of foundation work.
What's New
A welcome wizard
First-time users now land in a welcome wizard with two ways to start: load sample equipment to explore the app with realistic data, or skip straight to adding your own machine. Either button works right away.
Sample data that isn't empty
Each sample machine comes with realistic service records, parts, purchases, and fuel logs, so you can see what a well-kept history looks like before you invest time typing in your own.
Add a machine, add a photo
The new-machine form lets you add or take a photo right away, and new machines default to Active so they show up where you expect them.
Improvements
- A friendly maintenance page: when we update Garage131, you'll see a clear maintenance page instead of a broken screen.
- A small refinement to the desktop sidebar.
Under the Hood
Not everything we shipped this cycle is visible, but it matters. We rebuilt our internal admin tools, moved the database to versioned, repeatable migrations, and added a much larger set of automated tests around machines, parts, purchases, and fuel. It's groundwork for bigger features, so they arrive with fewer surprises.
