The first release of the new year is a follow-up to December's parts overhaul: less “look, it works” and more “it works the way you'd expect.” Suppliers get locations, shared parts get guardrails, and gas station lookup gets smarter.

In this release: supplier locations, locked shared parts, owner-only edit and delete, a smarter gas station search, and a calmer part detail window.

What's New

Supplier locations

Big suppliers aren't a single address. Suppliers can now have multiple locations — the downtown counter versus the one out by the highway — and you can create a supplier, or search for one, straight from the purchase form.

Shared parts are locked

When a part is shared, it now becomes read-only. A locked part can't be modified, so a change to one person's part can never quietly rewrite someone else's service history. A banner on the part explains why it's locked, and you're told before you share that the part will lock. Deleting a part is now a “soft” delete, too, so past records that mention it stay intact.

Only owners can edit or delete

Edit and delete controls now appear only for the person who owns a part or supplier — not on shared ones you're merely using.

A smarter gas station search

Nearby-station lookup got a round of upgrades: the list scrolls properly on phones, station search works better, and warehouse-club and grocery-store stations (think Costco or Fred Meyer) now show up in nearby results.

A calmer part window

In the part detail window, text boxes now turn into plain labels until you press Edit, so a quick look doesn't feel like a form you might accidentally change.
